The Gateway To Sedona Artist Competition Returns As The Sedona Art Prize in Partnership with the Sedona Arts Center
THE GATEWAY TO SEDONA ARTIST COMPETITION - ARTIST PROMOTION AND PAINTING CONTEST
In 2015, five artists won the top awards in the Gateway To Sedona Artist Competition from among 144 finalists. The Grand Prize of $5,000 went to artist George Bodine; two second prizes of $1000 went to artists Jason Sacran and Ned Mueller; two $500 third prizes were also awarded, one going to Sedona resident Mary Helsaple. Photos of the winning paintings are now posted at the new painting contest website, www.SedonaArtPrize.com.
A year-long painting competition, the Sedona Art Prize began in August 2016 and runs through July 2017. Each month, 12 finalists are selected by a judge who is an accomplished art professional. One monthly Best in Show painting wins $200 cash, plus 11 finalist paintings are selected and posted online by the 20th of the following month. At the conclusion of 12 months, cash award winners are selected from a total of 144 finalists: Grand Prize, $5000 ; Second Prize, $1000; Third Prize, $750.
The Sedona Art Prize again offers a top prize of $5k, but this time includes new promotional opportunities for artists such as multiple social media posts and expanded online exposure. And because it's online, artists can enter from anywhere in the world—they don't need to be in Sedona.
Another great feature helps those offering paintings or print reproductions for sale on the competition's search friendly pages—artists retain 100% of any artwork sales.
