Bell Rock and Courthouse Butte
Bell Rock comes into close view driving down the Sedona Red Rock Scenic Byway, State Route 179. Visitors entering along this "Gateway" to Sedona are awestruck upon first seeing this iconic red rock formation.

At the summit, the elevation of Bell Rock is 4,919 feet (1,499 m) while Courthouse Butte is even higher, with an elevation of 5,440 feet (1,660 m). They are composed of horizontally-bedded sedimentary rock of the Permian Supai Formation.
