Red Rock Crossing in Sedona Arizona

Cathedral Rock at Red Rock Crossing is one of the most photographed scenes in the Southwest, with Cathedral Rock reflecting in the waters of Oak Creek. This makes Red Rock Crossing, with the group picnic area and ramada picnic area popular all year round. Visitors can go fishing, swimming or wading in the creek. Its a great place for picnics and weddings, or just to take great photographs. At times it can become quite crowded. But if you come early in the morning or on a weekday, it's possible to have the world class beauty of Red Rock Crossing all to yourself.

Location: 37 miles south of Flagstaff, 7 miles southwest of Sedona. Elevation is 4,000 feet.

Access: Drive west from Sedona on US 89A. Just outside town, turn south on FR 216 (Upper Red Rock Loop Road). Drive about 1.5 miles and follow the signs to Red Rock Crossing. All roads except the short segment leading from Red Rock Crossing Road to the picnic area are paved.

Season: All year, hours: 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Memorial Day through Labor Day; off-season, 8 a.m. to dusk.

Facilities: Accessible Picnic Tables, Cooking grills, Vault Toilets, Group Ramada


Fees:

    * $8 per vehicle per day (up to 5 people) -Walk-ins: $1.00 per day per person. or the Red Rock WEEKLY or Grand Annual Pass. (Holders of the America-the-Beautiful Annual or Access pass, or the Golden AGE or Golden ACCESS passes will receive a 50% discount). Buses Per Day - fee based on per person: $1.00 per person.
    * Group Ramada: Day use facility will accommodate up to 50 people. $75 per day. Reservations accepted online by Recreation.Gov or call 877-444-6777 (toll free number), TDD at 877-833-6777. There is a $9 reservation fee in addition to the above group fees.

Notes: Drinking fountain available. Bring your own bulk water. No camping is permitted.
