There are over a dozen well documented and mapped trails that are "must do rides" and many more less published trails that will excite and exhilarate bikers of all levels.

Whether you are a novice looking to simply cruise the Bell Rock Pathway and experience a great ride with spectacular "photo ops" or an advanced rider looking to push the limits and ride Huckaby Trail a single track expert scenic loop along Oak Creek or the famous Submarine Rock, you shouldn't leave Sedona with out a ride.

You can bring your own bike or rent a mountain bike for a half day, full day or multiple days from any of Sedona's mountain bike stores. The staff will advise you as to the best trail suited for your ability and time requirements. Don't forget to ask if rentals include a helmet, trail map, pack with tools, extra tubes and water.   Here are a few tips on what to bring or expect.

Desert riding is unique and exciting but it's important to remember proper hydration is key to having a great time and surviving the effects of the desert heat. Hydrate before and during your activity. A good rule of thumb is one liter of water per hour during biking or sports activity.

Basic gear should include a helmet, gloves, sunglasses, energy bars, cell phone, compass, map, spare tubes, pump, tools and personal first aid items and a camera to capture some of the greatest memorable shots of this Red Rock fantasy.

Trails in this National Forest are diverse and have been selected and maintained for our enjoyment. It's important to note that the desert is a very fragile environment and staying on the trails is imperative. Always be aware of the plant life, and the natural habitat of the desert creatures. Please don't litter. Carry out what you bring in.  Better yet, if you see any litter, pick it up.

Be courteous to other riders; if they need assistance lend a hand.
The desert sun and heat is something to respect. Should you come across a fellow biker, lend a hand and help them repair a bike and get on the move again. Walking a disabled bike back out three miles is far worse than being able to ride back out.

Follow these tips and you'll be on your way to an incredibly memorable experience here in Sedona. You won't regret a moment!
