Fiesta del Tlaquepaque Celebrates Mexican Independence in Sedona Arizona

Folklorio Dancers Featured At Fiesta Del Tlaquepaque In Sedona Arizona

Sedona, AZ: For the past 35 years Tlaquepaque Arts & Crafts Village has celebrated Mexican Independence Day by transforming the village into a blur of colors, sounds, and smells. Thrilling Flamenco dancing, highly entertaining traditional folk songs, music from South of the Border and fabulous food contribute to making this a more-than-memorable event for folks of all ages. Kids get to hang out in the Kid Zone, one of the most popular areas during Fiesta. It’s is all part of a full day of entertainment for the whole family.

Selected world class Tlaquepaque galleries are featuring some of the regions greatest artists.
Visitors will enjoy their creative demonstrations and  chance to meet the artists.

“Year after year visitors from far and wide return to see the Mexican folk dancers, Ballet Amistad Folklorico. Dozens of children and adults perform perfectly synchronized dances in their brilliantly colorful costumes,” reports Wendy Lippman, Tlaquepaque general manager. “And be sure to catch the crowd favorite, Mosaico Flamenco who have been coming here for years. This troupe loves to perform and you can really feel the joy they express when they do.”

Mosaico presents the musical mastery and influences of Spain and South America to thunderous applause after every number.

New this year, visitors will be entranced by Spanish guitarist Miguel de Maria with his expansive repertoire of music from Spain and South of the Border. He astounds audiences as he intricately, and with great bravado, plays both melody and accompaniment simultaneously.

If you love classical flamenco guitar and are curious how it might sound infused with masterful jazz riffs, then Flamenco Fusion guitarist Greg Reiter, performing solo and with members of his band, is a must see. Reiter has devoted 35 years to mastering Flamenco/Classical Guitar and says, "Flamenco guitar is a form that I believe to be the most powerful to convey emotions.
