Sedona Heritage Museum Presents The History of Photography Exhibit in Sedona Arizona

Camera Exhibit At The Sedona Heritage Museum In Sedona Arizona

Sedona, AZ: The Sedona Heritage Museum presents its newest changing exhibit: “The History of Photography.”  Follow the history of photography with cameras ranging from beautifully handcrafted wood and brass cameras of the early days of photography, to early affordable box cameras designed for the consumer public, and finally to the digital cameras of the modern age.

Film, photography accessories, darkroom supplies, equipment, and some of the photographs these instruments have produced are all part of the exhibit.  This exhibit will continue through mid-September.

Located in Jordan Historical Park in Uptown Sedona, the Sedona Heritage Museum is a step back in time when Sedona was a small rural community of orchards, small farms, and ranches along Oak Creek. The museum and 4.75 acre park are housed in the former home of Walter and Ruth Jordan. The museum focus is on the pioneers of the Sedona area, from the earliest settlers in the 1870s through the heyday of western film-making in the 1950s.

The Museum is open daily, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Admission is $3. For more information about the Sedona Historical Society and the Sedona Heritage Museum go to www.sedonamuseum.org or call 928-282-7038.
