Verde Canyon Railroad Features Spring Train Events near Sedona Arizona

Verde Canyon Railroad Along Verde River Near Sedona Arizona

Sedona, AZ:  In the Verde Canyon “spring in bloom” dances to nature’s choreography.  Wildflowers sway in the breeze, the Verde River shimmers along the canyon floor, and new vegetation does a quickstep toward the sun against the backdrop of crimson rock cliffs. The Verde Canyon Railroad celebrates this light-hearted season with gala events on the round-trip train ride from Clarkdale to Perkinsville.

Hop aboard the Easter Bunny Express on April 12, for a hippity-hoppin’ good time with the whole family. Children’s faces will wear 100-watt smiles as they munch chocolate eggs and watch the twitchy-nosed Easter Bunny’s antics. A jelly bean counting contest and a keep-sake photo with “big ears” himself adds to the glee and excitement as the train passes through the 680-foot tunnel or over lofty railroad bridges.

Arriba! The Cinco de Mayo Celebration on May 2, 3, and 4, is as colorful as the rich heritage it celebrates. The Mariachi keeps toes tapping in the shaded patio while passengers enjoy a specialty drink or zesty Mexican lunch from the Copper Spike Café. Sip a margarita in the comfort of the coaches, or nibble on the complimentary hors d’oeuvres served in first class. Dance out onto the open-air cars for a breath of spring freshness and glimpse a soaring eagle in this incredible wilderness setting.

During the spring season, every day except Tuesday, the train leaves the station at 1 p.m., and returns at 5 p.m., just in time to continue the day’s frolic with a guitar-strummin’ fine time at the Blazin’ M Chuckwagon Dinner Show in nearby Cottonwood. Conveniently add reservations for this cowpoke experience while making train reservations by calling 800-293-7245 or book on-line at www.verdecanyonrr.com or www.blazinm.com.

The Verde Canyon Railroad depot is located in Clarkdale Arizona, 25 minutes from Sedona and two hours north of Phoenix. The Blazin’ M Ranch is located in Cottonwood, just minutes from the Verde Canyon Railroad depot.

It’s not the destination, it’s the journey!
