Sedona, AZ: With all the technology of I-pods, cell phones and media outlets like YouTube and MySpace the electronic ways of being entertained may seem overwhelming. But the joy of live entertainment just can’t be beat no matter what kind of gadgetry one can buy. Remember the days when radio shows were the glory of the era? When musicians and actors gathered together with a live audience and recorded a fantastic episode of a great story and the audience could hear the real laughter, oo’s and ah’s of the people watching?

For those of you who miss that kind of priceless entertainment or if you’re one who would like to experience it in person, you are in for a rare treat! Nightlife Sedona, a local entertainment company in town, is producing the first-ever live radio show titled “Radio Round Up” complete with a full band and a group of actors that will tickle your funny bone and make you smile. This is the first in a series of monthly shows that will play at different venues around northern Arizona recording live and then airing a week later. So if you are one of the lucky ones who watch the show, you get a chance to listen to it as well.

“Radio Round Up” stars the Prickly Ticklers known for their regular running dinner theater show “Up the Trail” playing Thursdays and Fridays at Relics. Shondra Jepperson heads up the cast with her unforgettable comedic ability and seasoned vocal talent. Dev Ross, writer of this production, has created a unique, smart story line that is what one would call a “prequel” to the “Up the Trail” plot. Plus the audience benefits from Ross’ presence on stage. She knocks your socks off with her characters and amazing physical comedy.

Mike Gilbert, known as the slow but hysterical ‘Jessie’ in the cast, heads up the musical direction accompanied by Steve Douglas, well known for his Artists in Rhythm Company and for his work with the Sedona Jazz and Film Festivals. These are only a few of the talented people who are a part of this ensemble. It will be a night to remember!
