Sedona Community Fair

Sedona Arizona Community Fair PosterSedona, AZ: The City of Sedona, Chamber of Commerce and Sedona Airport have come together to jointly promote the Sedona Community Fair 2008, (formerly Western Americana Day) on Saturday, September 20.

Last year the event was a huge success barring the intense weather conditions that ended the festival early.

The Community Fair will be an all-day event with booths, food, children’s activities, entertainment, aircraft on display, and an expanded competitive classic car show.

A website has been created to promote the event: www.sedonafair.com, with dozens of photos of last years event may be seen on the site.

This event is a non-profit effort to create a “small town” gathering of Sedona residents to enjoy as a community festival reminiscent of Sedona’s past.

Former Mayor Colquitt said in an open letter posted on the fair’s website, “Years ago, Sedona enjoyed small town gatherings like the rodeo that was held each year. As many of you know, I have been very concerned about the loss of these small town events that bring us together in a spirit of fellowship. It is my hope that this event will grow with time and become a Sedona tradition.”

Cars And Planes Featured At Sedona Community Fair In Sedona Arizona

The Sedona Community Fair will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.  Using the airport as a venue is being made possible by expansion of aircraft and automobile parking completed during the spring, enabling the airport to host an event with thousands of attendees and hundreds of automobiles while still operating the airport. Transportation for overflow will be provided and Sedona’s police department will manage traffic safety, especially at the Airport Road and Hwy 89A intersection.
