Sedona, AZ: The Art and Craft Show will be held at Bell Rock Plaza in the Village of Oakcreek. On Saturday the show will be open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. The show will be participating in the first Moonwalk celebrating Arizona's first and only "All American Road." The Moonwalk is a quarterly event being held by the Sedona Business Main Street Revitalization Committee.
Festivities at the Plaza include live music and a food booth with hamburgers, hotdogs, and cold drinks. Participating businesses in the Village will offer treats and chances to win prizes. The walk goes between the Blue Moon Cafe and the Full Moon Saloon at Tequa where an outdoor concert will be held, the last in the series featuring 1950's music from Come Back Buddy. This concert will be held between 6 and 8 p.m., and dessert will be available.
The art show features Glenn Hines from Dewey. Hines has been a full-time professional artist for over 25 years, achieving his uniquely timeless sculptures by the use of various tooling and hammering techniques, many of which were developed by him. Hines has made copper relief sculpture closely associated with Sonoran culture and the southwest. His work is shown in galleries throughout Arizona, New Mexico and Utah and he has had many major commissions for hotels, banks and government buildings, including the Arizona Superior Court Building.
Hines works on both sides of the metal allowing the creation of many different dimensions and textures. He painstakingly colors selected areas of his creations using chemical oxidants and small watercolor brushes. Each piece is meticulously cleaned several times and hand buffed to completion. To ensure the lasting quality of each piece, a minimum of two coats of lacquer is applied. In keeping with the quality of each piece of art and to make it an extension of the art itself all matting and framing is done at Hines' studio.
Also showing at the art show this weekend will be Dyanne Silver. She will be making one of her rare Sedona appearances after spending the winter doing shows in the Palm Springs area. She recently won the First Place Award at Indian Wells. Her jewelry is usually large and splashy and really makes a statement. Dyanne has been making jewelry for 25 years and has sold her work to many major stores including Neiman Marcus. She has Tibetan pieces and fairy pieces in her current inventory and each piece is a one of a kind treasure.
There will be over 50 artists at the Bell Rock Art Show with paintings, photography, leather, mixed media wall art, rock art, wood furniture, jewelry, pottery, spa products, sculpture, metal art, fountains, wood toys, salt lamps, food and more.
The show will run from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., on Saturday and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., on Sunday. Bell Rock Plaza is located on Hwy 179 in the Village of Oakcreek, Sedona.
Surrounded by beautiful red rock scenery, Bell Rock Plaza is centrally located in the Village of Oak Creek - Gateway to Sedona.
