Trip Advisor Announces Sedona Arizona Number Five in Top Ten Travelers' Choice US Destinations

Sedona Arizona and Cathedral Rock, One of Sedona's Most Beautiful Places

Sedona, AZ: Sedona has won a place among the world's best travel spots, coming in fifth in Trip Advisor's 2008 Travelers' Choice U.S. Destinations Awards.

Trip Advisor®, among the world's largest travel communities, announced the winners of its inaugural Travelers' Choice Destination Awards on April 29, 2008.

Michele Perry, vice president of global communications for Trip Advisor, said the awards were "determined by millions of travelers," and that the places that won were "not just popular places, but truly exceptional places that enthrall travelers and keep them coming back."

Places on the list were also selected for their unique beauty or an abundance of attractions. Sedona is known for its magnificent, towering red rocks and spectacular panoramas. In addition, visitors can find an amazing variety of things to do in the area, such as jeep or air tours, float or kayaking trips, hiking or mountain biking, sightseeing trips to ancient Indian ruins, shopping in world-class art galleries and day trips to the Grand Canyon and nearby national monuments.

Sedona has become recognized as a top U.S. tourist destination, and in 2003, was designated as "The Most Beautiful Place in America" by the editors of USA Weekend Magazine. The distinguished Trip Advisor award was based on the votes of real visitors who chose Sedona either because it was their "favorite place," or because of its overall popularity.
