Sedona's Mountaintop Airport Near McCain Oak Creek Cabin a Convenient Landing Spot for Supporters and Staff

Corporate Jets Parked at Sedona Airport (KSEZ) Transport McCain Staff
Corporate jets parked at Sedona Airport (KSEZ) after ferrying dozens of key personnel and staff from Senator John McCain's presidential campaign for a private party and gathering at Enchantment Resort and Spa and at McCain’s creek side cabin near Sedona.

SEDONA, AZ: Sedona Airport’s location on a flat mountain in the heart of Sedona’s red rock country has become a convenient landing zone for aircraft ferrying John McCain’s supporters, national and international press, and campaign staff for private meetings and pubic receptions. The closest major airport is Phoenix’s Sky Harbor airport, a two-hour drive south of Sedona.

Arizona Senator John McCain, the Republican party candidate for the office of President of the United States, has taken advantage of his creek side cabin near Sedona and availability of private and secure resort meeting locations for thank-you gatherings and key strategy meetings with campaign insiders.

On the first weekend in March, McCain held a family-style barbecue and social gathering for selected members of national and international press as well as personal, state and congressional friends. The gathering was at the McCain’s family cabin located a few miles west of Sedona on the banks of Oak Creek. Members of the press stayed overnight at Enchantment Resort and Spa and enjoyed Sedona hospitality as they traveled around town. Comments in national press indicated they also enjoyed Sedona’s dramatic red-rock allure.

The McCain’s have owned this private enclave near Sedona for over 25 years and have enjoyed countless family outings and relaxing getaways from their busy life in Washington D. C. and Phoenix.

On the second weekend in March, McCain hosted another gathering, this time a thank-you party for staff and key supporters. Many also stayed at Enchantment Resort and Spa, which is hidden away inside a red rock, walled canyon north of Sedona.

Sedona Airport’s 5,100 foot runway and location about 5 miles from the McCain ranch and minutes away from Enchantment Resort and Spa (a visitor getaway known for its super privacy) is ideal for smaller, cross country jets to land. The airport is located 500 feet above the city of Sedona and is currently expanding aircraft parking to facilitate busy weekend fly-ins.
