Sedona Bike and Bean Sponsors All New Bike Bash Bicycle Festival in Sedona Arizona

Sedona Bike and Bean Sponsors All New Bike Bash Bicycle Festival in Sedona Arizona

Sedona, AZ: The first annual Sedona Bike Bash and Bicycle Festival sponsored by the Sedona Heritage Museum and Sedona Bike & Bean is scheduled for Saturday, April 12, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The festival will be based at the Museum at 735 Jordan Road, just off Highway 89A, in Uptown Sedona.

The all new, day-long event
will provide a variety of events and activities appealing to a range of attendees - from mountain biker to families with small children. First and foremost the Sedona Bike Bash is designed to be a fun experience for all. Bicyclists can take part in informal rides at a pace and a distance they choose on some of the beautifully scenic trails in Sedona's neighboring national forest. Bike & Bean will also host an on-site bike repairs station.

For those not partaking of the fun rides,
the festival expo area will provide a full schedule throughout the day of trick demonstrations, kids' activities including a Bike Rodeo and bicycle skills and safety zone, antique ‘high wheeler bicycle" demonstration, and industry representatives showing and demonstrating innovative bicycling products. After checking out all the activities, folks can just hang out in the Museum's Packing Shed and enjoy biking videos and live music concerts. Bike & Bean will have a full gourmet coffee bar set-up for both morning and afternoon caffeine jolts. Also in the Packing Shed, the Sedona Heritage Museum will be hosting a raffle and silent auction of custom bikes, frames, biking attire, accessories, special offers, tours and gift certificates. All proceeds from the raffle and auction will go to the Museum.

Sedona Bike and BeanAt the end of the day, a fun ride will end at the Oak Creek Brewery in West Sedona where festival goers with tickets will be admitted to the beer garden for camaraderie and drink specials.

The official hotel
of the Sedona Bike Bash is the Radisson Poco Diablo Resort, located at 1736 Hwy 179. The Radisson is holding a block of rooms and providing a preferred rate. These rooms are limited and should be reserved as soon as possible by calling 928-282-7333 and asking for the Sedona Bike Bash rate. In addition, they are offering a 20% discount to festival goers in their restaurant.

For those looking to camp before and after the festival, the U.S. Forest Service has a number of camping options in the area. For more information visit www.redrockcountry.org/recreation/camping. The Sedona Chamber of Commerce is also a resource for lodging and camping information at www.visitsedona.net.

Festival organizers Ray Anderson and Jim Monahan say they look forward to further developing the Sedona Bike Bash into a multi-day event over the next several years. “This year we are concentrating on mountain biking and putting on a family-friendly festival." said Anderson. “The completion of bike lanes on Hwy 179 and Hwy 89A over the next couple years will allow us to eventually accommodate more people over more days for more activities. Our future plans will involve road rides and cyclo-cross events. We look forward to the future of this event and the chance to show off the beauty of Sedona and the uniqueness of the Museum and its' park setting to bicycle enthusiasts."

Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for children 6-12 years old, and children under 6 are free. Admission will include a schwag bag, access to all the events, activities and the Packing Shed, and both a continental breakfast and lunch served by the Sedona Community Center.

All proceeds from the day's activities will benefit the Sedona Historical Society, a 501c3 non-profit organization. The Society operates the Sedona Heritage Museum on the Jordan Farmstead at 735 Jordan Road in Uptown Sedona, AZ. For more information, call 928-282-7038.
