This format, a Wise Ones Forum in conjunction with the screening of “IN SEARCH OF THE FUTURE,” was developed in June 2007 at the Harmony Festival in Santa Rosa, California, where the first cut of the film was the only film screened at this popular music and ideas festival featuring six indigenous Wise Ones along with Dennis Kucinich, Arianna Huffington, Daniel Pinchbeck, Amy Goodman, and John Major Jenkins in the line- up of visionary speakers.
“Our film explores the origin and future of humanity from a variety of cultural, scientific and spiritual perspectives, interviewing indigenous elders, shamanic healers, western scientists and futurists from Africa, North America and Mexico. We believe there is an extraordinary future in store for humanity, that will only manifest when we come together as equals and share our knowledge.” According to Bailey and Marlow. “It’s written in the prophecies of the major religions and indigenous calendars. We created the world as it is today. We can change it. It’s up to us.”
Created by Sedona filmmakers Bailey and Marlow, “IN SEARCH OF THE FUTURE” has been called “an indigenous What the Bleep do we Know?!” in a Zaadz.com review.
Shift Magazine says it “carries no less vital a message than Leonardo DiCaprio’s ‘The Eleventh Hour.’” It has been chosen as one of 20 films to be screened at the Conscious Film Festival in Los Angeles in February, and was the September 2007 choice of Santa Fe’s Visionary DVD Club.
Advance tickets are $95 for the entire event, including lunch. After January 20, the cost of admission will be $125. Dinner with the Wise Ones is $35 and admission for the evening concert, screening and discussion only is $20.
Tickets for VISIONING THE FUTURE are available at the Golden Word Bookstore, Crystal Magic and Creative Life Center in Sedona.
