Sedona, AZ: The Sedona Arts Festival returns with a fabulous array of new and returning fine artists, the highly anticipated Education Pavilion, along with first-rate entertainment, delicious food, the KidZone, and fun for all ages. The Education Pavilion will showcase a number of well-recognized artists demonstrating the breathtaking medium of glass art. Visitors will have the rare opportunity to experience first-hand the detailed work that goes into creating fine art glass.
"We're taking the Festival to a whole new level this year," said Sedona Arts Festival Director Gayle Taylor. This year, for the first time, the Sedona Arts Festival allowed artists from throughout the country to submit online applications through ZAPP, a national organization representing artists of all mediums. The surge of applicants allowed the Festival to reach outside of itself and connect with a whole new world of first class artists.
Hundreds applied for their chance to be one of 120 artists selected to exhibit their work at this year's Festival. With so many high-caliber applicants, she sees the Festival turning into a fine arts festival with fine crafts persons represented as well— a place where local artists and craftsmen can stand alongside some of the nation's finest artists.
"We're going to have some new, really exciting artists that people haven't seen before. The artwork is going to change dramatically from what has been exhibited in the past but we're still going to have some of the favorites that people come to our Festival to see every year. If people are looking for really top notch pieces for their homes, they will be able to find them at this year's Sedona Arts Festival," Taylor stated.
The 17th Annual Festival will take place at the Sedona Red Rock High School on Saturday, October 6, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Sunday, October 7, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. For more information, visit
