On the trail, Evans and Wade, each from very different worlds, begin to earn each other's respect. But with Wade's outfit on their trail — and dangers at every turn — the mission soon becomes a violent, impossible journey toward each man's destiny.
"The original movie from 1957 was filmed primarily in Arizona, even some scenes in Sedona, which makes us the perfect place to see the film first," said Judy Schultz, Sedona Film Office Director.
Oscar-nominated actor Peter Fonda, who plays Byron McElroy in this new version of "3:10 to Yuma", will be on hand to host a question/answer discussion following the screening. Fonda has been nominated for two Academy Awards (best screenplay for writing "Easy Rider" and best actor in a leading role for "Ulee's Gold") and has won two Golden Globe awards (with a total of four nominations). His list of credits numbers nearly 60 films in a career that has spanned almost five decades.
"It is sure to be an evening and a discussion to be remembered," said Schweiss. "To have an actor of Peter's caliber here with us for this series is quite remarkable."
The title sponsor for the event is Good Health Supplements. The lodging host is Los Abrigados Resort & Spa. The series is also made possible by a grant from the Arizona Commission on the Arts and National Endowment for the Arts and the City of Sedona.
