The main event is the World's Oldest Rodeo® Dexterity, endurance, strength and balance are put to the test in saddle bronc riding, bareback riding, tie-down roping, steer wrestling, team roping, team bronc riding, bull riding and Professional Women's Barrel Racing.
With top purses amounting to $10,601 per event, some of the top cowboys in the nation will be competing to increase their chances to move forward to the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo in December. There are usually 10 to15 entries per event, so the competition is fierce and the entertainment level is high.
Crazy and courageous, these rodeo riders face their fears and test their skills in a few furious seconds of achievement in the arena. The competition at this Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association-sanctioned event is fierce; often the winner is determined by a split-second decision.
Prescott Frontier Days and the World's Oldest Rodeo® festivities begin Friday, June 29 and continue through Wednesday, July 4. Evening performances begin at 7:30 p.m. Matinees also run at 1:30 p.m. on June 30 and July 1, and at 3:00 on July 4. Come to Prescott to experience this authentic slice of Western Americana.
