Sedona, AZ: Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts will present the 38th annual Scottsdale Arts Festival on March 7 - 9, 2008, at the Scottsdale Civic Center Mall. The event is sponsored by CBS 5, 99.9 KEZ and 95.5 KYOT and SRP. The Arizona Republic is the 2007 - 08 season media sponsor. Proceeds benefit the programs of the Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts.
Consistently ranked among the top arts festivals in the country by the readers of American Style magazine, the Scottsdale Arts Festival has been a favorite among visitors and artists alike since 1971. During this three-day event, nearly 200 jury-selected artists from throughout North America display their work for sale on the beautiful grounds of the Scottsdale Civic Center Mall. Works of art are available for purchase directly from the artists and from the Scottsdale Art Festival's online art auction. Visitors also enjoy continuous live music and entertainment, a unique work of interactive performance art commissioned by the Scottsdale Public Art Program, fun activities for children and families at Imagine Nation, delicious food and beverages, free admission to the Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art (SMoCA) and free parking and shuttle service.

Admission: $7 for adults; $5 for students; free for children 12 and under and members of Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts and SMoCA.
Pets are not allowed, except for assistance dogs.
ARTISTS
Long recognized for its high-quality fine arts and crafts, the Scottsdale Arts Festival showcases nearly 200 artists selected by jury from a record pool of more than 1,000 applicants. Participating artists come from throughout the United States and Canada and work in all media, from ceramic, glass, jewelry and metal to painting, sculpture, photography, printmaking and drawing. Visitors have the opportunity to meet and talk to each artist and buy works directly from them.

ONLINE ART AUCTION
Web site: The Scottsdale Arts Festival's online auction features original works of art in all media donated by participating artists. Auction items are displayed in the Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts Atrium and through the Scottsdale Arts Festival Web site. Benefiting the Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts, the auction opens on Saturday, March 8, at 10 a.m. and has a rolling close beginning on Sunday, March 9, at 5 p.m. Bidders may view images of all auction items and place and track their bids at any time through the auction www.scottsdaleartsfestival.org.
MUSIC & ENTERTAINMENT
Many of the Arizona's top musicians and entertainers perform during the Scottsdale Arts Festival. Performances take place continuously throughout the festival grounds and include jazz, R&B, rock, reggae, world music and much more.
