May 16th: New York #39;s famous 92nd Street Y comes to Sedona on Wednesday, when the Sedona International Film Festival hosts the live simulcast of an evening with Elie Wiesel. The special event will take at 5:00 p.m. at the festival rsquo;s new Mary D. Fisher Theatre.

On Saturady, noted author David Hatcher Childress explores the research that has taken him to Egypt, Peru, Mexico, Malta and China (along with co-author anthropologist Brien Foerster), resulting in his latest book: The Enigma of Cranial Deformation.

Zuni Festival of Arts and Culture

May 26th and 27th: This is the 22nd year Zuni will gather at the Museum of Northern Arizona for the Zuni Festival of Arts and Culture, bringing with them cultural presentations, fine arts, music, and dances to explore A:shiwi philosophy, beliefs, worldviews, values, and current issues on the Zuni Indian Reservation.

May 30th through June 3rd: The sixth annual Sedona Bluegrass Festival and residency runs Wednesday May 30 through Sunday June 3, with many of Bluegrass #39;s most important artists, emerging artists, and Arizona artists.

Astronomy in Grand Canyon National Park

June 5th, and June 16th ndash; 23rd: Two astronomy events will be celebrated in Grand Canyon National Park this June. On the afternoon of June 5, there will be public telescope viewing of a rare Transit of Venus at the South Rim #39;s Grand Canyon Visitor Center. Then, from Saturday, June 16 through Saturday, June 23, the twenty-second annual Grand Canyon Star Party will be held on both the South and North Rims of the park.

Summer Navajo Rug Auction

June 23rd: In collaboration with Flagstaff Cultural Partners (FCP), the Museum of Northern Arizona (MNA) will host the summer Navajo Rug Auction on Saturday, at the Museum of Northern Arizona. The auction will feature over 200 vintage and contemporary Navajo weavings from artists, consigners, and the R. B. Burnham and Co. Trading Post.

Grand Canyon National Park Excavation Exhibit

Now Through August 5th: Between 2006 and 2009, the National Park Service (NPS) and the Museum of Northern Arizona (MNA) completed the largest excavation and research project in Grand Canyon National Park in nearly 40 years. Nine sites along the Colorado River at the Canyon bottom were investigated, revealing important stories about the lives of prehistoric peoples who made the Grand Canyon their home.

Sedona Heritage Museum Displays Arizona Centennial Quilt

Through 2012: The Sedona Heritage Museum is hosting the City of Sedona #39;s Arizona Centennial quilt during the month of April as part of their continuing special exhibit in celebration of the Arizona #39;s Centennial year of statehood.
