Art and Craft Show at Bell Rock Plaza
Art and Craft Show at Bell Rock Plaza
The Art and Craft Show at Bell Rock Plaza will be held on the very last day of the month this year and go through February 1. The artists are rallying from the holidays and starting their circuit anew for 2009.

Featured at the January show is an artist who works in wood. John Wdowin is originally from New York where he attended Oswego State University and graduated with a BS in Industrial Arts. In 1974 he completed graduate work in dream research and Native American Studies. His technical training complements his creativity and many of his works require hours of precision cutting.

Most of his vases actually take more than a month to complete and involve many steps. John prides himself on reclaiming wood and recycles baseball bats, old buildings, old golf clubs, and when he hikes or walks his dog, he gathers wood. John’s wooden vases capture the true beauty of the wood and all the colors are natural, with no stains or dyes ever used. The wood itself lends the color to the piece. He has been a featured artist in many newspapers all over his native state of New York and has won awards in nationally ranked shows all over Northern New York State, as well as best woodworker in Tempe and an honorable mention in Prescott at the Mountain Artist Guild Show.

This year John will be producing and showing mainly in New York where he has a very large following, and we are lucky to have him come to Sedona.

There will be an outstanding array of artists
at this show with a lot of award winners from shows around the state, with plenty of wall art, jewelry, hats, clothing, sculpture, pottery, and much more. There will be over 45 artists at this holiday show and the work will include paintings, photography, leather, sculpture, jewelry, pottery, stone art, glass art, Hopi Kachinas, clothing, coin art, wood furniture, native flutes and music and more.

Surrounded by beautiful red rock scenery, Bell Rock Plaza is centrally located in the Village of Oak Creek — Gateway to Sedona, on State Route 179. The Bell Rock Plaza Art and Craft Shows are an excellent introduction to the Sedona art scene with many of Sedona's hotels, bed and breakfasts, restaurants, and shopping close by. The show is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., daily.
