Through May 15th: The Sedona Heritage Museum features Arizona's official neckwear — the Bolo Tie — in its current changing exhibit.

January 31st and February 1st: The Art and Craft Show at Bell Rock Plaza will be held on the very last day of the month this year and go through February 1. The artists are rallying from the holidays and starting their circuit anew for 2009.

Gallery 527 in Jerome debuts a whole new kind of art. Michael Craig Carrier joins this talented group of artists with his unique Ecological Assemblages which range from graphic displays of bullet-ridden tin cans to frayed and painted tire treads.

For an artist to stand before a block of stone, a gift from nature, and begin to chip away at it takes real courage.  For an artist to feel that the image they are about to awaken is worthy of that intrusion requires total trust that the parts eliminated will reveal a richer vision.  At Sedona's Lanning Gallery, the work of sculptor Kathi Caricof unmistakably marks her as an artist worthy of those efforts.  Her work will be featured at Lanning Gallery throughout January.

Sedona’s Turquoise Tortoise Gallery has worked with generations of Native American artists over its thirty-seven year history and will begin the New Year with a unique showcase.  The gallery will focus on figure carvings linking ancient traditions with contemporary interpretations throughout the month of January.

Through May 26th: They arrived with vision and anticipation, three Woodstock, New York painters, bringing new eyes and fresh perspectives to the Museum of Northern Arizona's 2007 Artist-in-Residence Program in Flagstaff. Painted Journeys on the Colorado Plateau is an exhibit of their 36 works (12 from each artist). The exhibit remains open through May 26, 2009.

Through February 14th: Cartographers have attempted to map the complex features of the Grand Canyon for more than 150 years. Over time their equipment and techniques have changed dramatically, enabling them to capture fine details and diverse information. See the wide range of maps being used today for recreation, scientific inquiry, and land management. They are as beautiful as they are informative.
