Jerome Holiday Art Walk
Jerome Holiday Art Walk
The holidays are just around the corner and what better gift is there than original art? First Saturday Jerome Art Walk is the perfect night to start the season's shopping for the perfect present. Twenty-five galleries and studios will be welcoming visitors  from 5-8 p.m., with beautiful art, music, and refreshments.

Caption: Kim Hoshal presents this stunning black and white image in her new show ‘All is Calm’ at her Old Jerome High School Studio and Gallery.

From blown glass to lovely jewelry,
there is a treasure to be found for every budget this year. From the working studios of The Old Jerome High School to the lovely pottery of Made in Jerome, the true handmade Jerome touch is everywhere. Tracy Weisel and his blown glass fruit, Cody DeLong’s latest plein air paintings, Eric Kee’s Native American flutes, Rick Hernandez’s exotic jewelry designs…just a few of the unique creations of Jerome artisans and all in one magical mountain town.

Cody DeLong Studio has been busy all year and this month is no exception. Cody just returned from a Scholarship class in Texas that focused on Still Life painting. Come in and see some of these new works, as well as some new Aspen, Grand Canyon and Jerome pieces.

Pura Vida Gallery will be featuring its annual handcrafted holiday gift show. Gifts in a variety of prices will be displayed throughout the gallery.  In addition to the gallery's infamous chocolate and champagne reception, local cellist Nancine Macdonald will be providing holiday music.
Suzann Trout and Suzy Mound of Jerome Bead Creations will provide 'Winter Warmth' featuring new jewelry in vivid reds and oranges combined with sterling peace symbols, bronze fish and hand pendants with inlaid turquoise and coral. Hot apple cider will add the spice at their Old Jerome High School Studio.

Jerome Artists Cooperative will have the annual Holiday Membership Show featuring work from all co-op members.

Photographer Patrick Lincoln’s
Lincoln Gallery  in is The New State Motor Company Building, just a few doors up the street from Nellie Bly, the largest kaleidoscope gallery in the US and across the street from Made in Jerome Pottery.

Check out Jerome's Jewelry Artist Rick Hernandez and his 18-year-old son Ricky with their fabulous line of custom creations.   They enjoy working with Australian Opal, Druzy, Arizona Peridot and Mystic Topaz along with many other gemstones.  Choose from a wide variety of unique items 14k gold and Sterling Silver. Located by Raku Gallery and The Jerome Gallery at 114 Jerome Avenue, stop by to see this talented family run gallery of jewelry.

Speaking of jewelry, Aurum, a Jerome favorite for 25 years, shows new and innovative work by area artists Lindsay Livingston, Noah Pfeffer and William Ford.

At SkyFire, between 4-7 p.m., Karen Elaine Thomas will do a book signing and demonstrations from her book "ORIGAMI, Card Craft," released earlier this year by Random House.  One of our country's foremost authorities on origami and paper craft, Thomas will show how to dress up your holiday table and make creative, easy gifts and cards.

Purple Sky Photography will be presenting a new show entitled, “All is Calm.” The show will focus on Kim’s recent works from White Sands National Monument, a very mystical and peaceful place in Southwestern New Mexico. The white gypsum sand dunes, formed by the wind and tinted by the color of the sky create sweeping wave-like formations. Around each corner is a new abstract landscape waiting to be captured. Colorful hot air balloons add to the magic and create some beautiful contrast against the dunes.

Be sure to stop by Raku Gallery to see new sculptures by Mark Breithaupt.  His honeycomb calcite is the most splendid color.  We have new paintings by Al Clymer, Kathy Taylor, and Jane Darrow. Arlee Kasselman jewelry has just arrived with an exciting new look.

Big news at The Old Jerome High School… painter Clive Pates and ceramic artist Virginia Pates have moved into the ground floor studio of the A building - A202.. This spectacular space will be the new studio and display space for this talented couple.

Gallery 527 presents yet another new artist in December and this time it is Jerome newcomer Ardis Harsche. Ardis is an encaustic/mixed media artist and has mastered this ancient technique of painting with pigmented wax. Her subjects range from primal cave paintings to abstract and textural interpretations of the creation of the beginning of art.  Dave Rentz will be entertaining at Gallery 527 during Art Walk.

Don’t miss the lighting of the town Christmas tree in the upper park as well as the luminaria extravaganza throughout the town. It will be a night to Light up The Mountain. Come and enjoy. For more information, visit www.jeromeartwalk.com.
