Geoffrey Roth Features Pamela Froman and William Henry Studio
Geoffrey Roth, under the Bell Tower in Tlaquepaque, is proud to host an artist reception for two outstanding award winning designers: jewelry artist Pamela Froman and William Henry Studio, creator of exquisite collector knives.
Geoffrey Roth Gallery is excited to introduce to Sedona the award-winning Pamela Froman Fine Jewelry Collection featuring handmade pieces comprised of multiple colors of precious metal and exquisite, rare natural stones. Originality and meticulous attention to every detail are hallmarks of Pamela’s signature look: because each item is handmade, no two will ever be identical, even if they are similar in design.
Born and raised in the giant melting pot of Manhattan, NY, Pamela strongly feels that individuality is the underlying theme of beauty, and believes “the more a piece is worn, the more beautiful it is because it becomes part of the person’s essence.” Living in Europe while designing jewelry collections for top couturier, inspired the designer’s love of old-world architecture, especially scroll-y wrought iron gates and the decorative domes of St. Petersburg. “I love irregular surfaces,” Pamela explains, “so most of my Collection is textured with a special hand hammering technique I call ‘Crushed’.”.
The initial Pamela Froman Fine Jewelry Collection made its debut at the 2006 JCK Show in Las Vegas where Pamela was awarded the promising title of Rising Star. In 2008 she was identified as one of the 10 Best New Jewelry Designers by InDesign Magazine, and was thrilled to be presented with the prestigious Town & Country Couture Design Award for Best of Gold (an award often referred to as the Oscar of the jewelry industry!”). In 2009 she won a Couture Design Award, this time for Best of Bridal!
Founded in 1997 by partners Mathew William Conable and Michael Henry Honack, the studio has grown from a one-man shop to a 20 person company that has established a new benchmark of excellence in luxury-grade knives. Every pocket knife the studio makes is a distinctive heirloom-quality testament to the art of knife making. Each piece takes more than seven months to produce, and incorporates the work of more than 30 artisans across 800 individual operations.
Matt Conable says about his designs: “In everything I do, I design and build to the limits of my imagination. The William Henry Collection is a hybrid between the traditional art of knife making and modern technology. I use only state-of-the-art alloys and premium natural materials in combinations that merge from with function to create pieces of enduring value… The integration of various traditions, materials, and technologies allows me to create cutlery that is elegant, distinctive, and without peer in performance.”
Awards include: the 1999, 2001, and 2008 American Made Knife of the Year, the 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2006, 2007, 2008, and 2009 Investor/Collector Knife of the Year, the 2000 and 2003 Overall Knife of the Year, the 2007 Niche Award for Forged Metal and the 2008 Town & Country Couture Design Award finalist.
