Canyon Moon Theatre Presents Cups

Victoria¡¯s secret is out! Come discover what captivating memories are secreted away in the cups of a training bra, strapless bra, a bra burned in the 60¡¯s or even a bustier. Joni Sheram¡¯s Cups is an uproarious one-woman play about the lives of women told through the contours and curves of bras. Sheram shares the details of women¡¯s lives in a series of delightful and moving tales that mirror changes in society while interweaving a very personal journey. You¡¯ll laugh and cry and leave smiling. Bring your family, friends and the men in your life, too! Cups will take you on a hills and valley tour through the last half-century of American culture as you explore the important milestones experienced by the fairer sex. Joni Sheram is an actress, playwright and coach. She has written for the stage, television and the big screen. In addition she has worked as a trainer with the Joseph P. Kennedy Foundation, where she traveled the country for their ¡°Community of Caring¡± program. Joni has preformed this play extensively in Colorado, including the Manitou Art Theatre where artistic director Brigitta DePree was instrumental in helping her workshop the play. In addition Joni completed a very well received tour of New Zealand. Bob Bows from the Denver Post has written, ¡°Sheram's script captures many of the remarkable, kaleidoscopic events witnessed by the past three or four generations, as well revealing a reflective and inquisitive spirit that artfully applies a liberal dose of humor to it all.¡± Performances are scheduled Thursdays through Sundays, concluding May 17. Shows are at 7:30 p.m., Thursdays through Saturdays and 3 p.m., on Sundays. Tickets are $19 for general admission and $11 for full-time students. Canyon Moon Theatre is located in the Oak Creek Factory Outlets, three doors down from The GAP, on State Route 179 in the Village of Oak Creek. Canyon Moon is a professional, non-profit theatre that serves the northern Arizona community and its guests. Season XI is supported by the Arizona Commission on the Arts, the Sedona Arts and Culture Commission and the Sedona Community Foundation.
