First Friday Gallery Walk at Tlaquepaque May 1st: The first Friday of every month Sedona's finest galleries, including El Prado Gallery, Eclectic Image Gallery, Renee Taylor Gallery, Andrea Smith Gallery, Mountain Trails Gallery, Geoffrey Roth, and Kuivato Glass Gallery host a monthly event featuring special visiting artists or special events.

Lanning Gallery Welcomes Three New Artists May 1st: Sedona's Lanning Gallery celebrates three artists whose work is new to the gallery; all three will be on-hand to welcome visitors at a "1st Friday" artists' reception from 5-8 p.m. An exhibition entitled "IntroducingĄ," features the cast-bronze sculptures of Howard Hitchcock, the meticulous abstract paintings of Richard Bruland, and the equine paintings of Kathleen Kinkopf.
Turquoise Tortoise Gallery Welcomes Home New Artists May 1st: Sedona's Turquoise Tortoise Gallery has welcomed "back home" its scion, the popular Turquoise Tortoise Contemporary Gallery, formerly of the shops at Pinon Pointe-Hyatt in Sedona. Taking advantage of their location in the heart of the soon-to-be-completely revamped Gallery District, the combined gallery unveils itself on May 1, with a "1st Friday" artistsĄ¯ reception from 5-8 p.m.

Museum of Northern Arizona Announces Painted Journeys on the Colorado Plateau Exhibit Through May 26th: They arrived with vision and anticipation, three Woodstock, New York painters, bringing new eyes and fresh perspectives to the Museum of Northern Arizona's 2007 Artist-in-Residence Program in Flagstaff. Painted Journeys on the Colorado Plateau is an exhibit of their 36 works (12 from each artist). The exhibit remains open through May 26, 2009.
Sedona Bluegrass Festival April 29th - May 3rd: Tim O’Brien, the Grammy award winning mandolinist and singer/songwriter, The Burnett Family Bluegrass, winners of the 2004 Telluride Bluegrass Festival, and Crystal Creek Bluegrass Band, finalists in the 2008 Telluride Bluegrass Festival will all be performing at this year's Sedona Bluegrass Festival.
