Masriera and Bagues Jewelry Trunk Show at Geoffrey Roth
Masriera and Bagues Jewelry Trunk Show at Geoffrey Roth
Geoffrey Roth, under the Bell Tower in Tlaquepaque, is hosting a trunk show for the Masriera and Bagues jewelry lines from Barcelona, Spain. The jewelry store has carried these two fabulous lines for several years. However, this is the first time we will have the two complete collections available for the public. Please join us for a wine reception on Friday, March 6, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., and an all day showing from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., on Saturday, March 7.

Lluis Masriera (1872-1959) was the creator and designer of the Masriera jewelry line. This third generation jeweler from Barcelona was influenced mainly by two historic periods: Art Nouveau that dominated Europe’s art scene of the late 1900s and Art Deco, which dominated the 1920s and 1930s. Lluis Masriera was inspired by the flower, animal, and fairy designs of the Art Nouveau period and later on by the geometric forms of Art Deco. He incorporated them beautifully into 18K gold jewelry with translucent hand applied enamel, diamonds and pearls.

Today, the jewelry house Masriera transforms Lluis Masriera’s original designs into absolutely stunning pieces of art
that can be worn in the form of earrings, pendants, brooches and rings. In some cases the same original dies from the 1920 are still used to create the jewelry. Each piece is handmade and features carefully applied basse-taille (on metal) and/or plique-a-jour (see-through) enamel. It is not surprising that Lluis Masriera’s designs and jewelry has been exhibited in the Metropolitan Museum of Art and in art museums throughout Europe.

Inspired by the horns and trumpets of an orchestra, the contemporary Concierto design by Masriera’s sister company Bagues
is playful and classical at the same time. Antoni Ros Marba, the creator of the line, writes: “There are many things which bring music and jewelry together: the harmony of combining the forms, the golden melodic creativity, the rhythmic stability of the precious stones…as eloquent as a diamond set in precious metal. It is as eloquent as this collection of Bagues jewels which are destined to become eternal works of art which always overcome the tide of time. “

The Bagues rings, earrings, bracelets and necklaces are made from 18K yellow gold, diamonds and basse-taille enamel.
The Concierto line comes in variations of vibrant colors for the spring, warm colors for the fall, and white gold and diamonds for the winter season. Concierto is only one of several styles within the Bagues line that reflect the Mediterranean life style of Spain and the long tradition of enamel work of Barcelona.

Geoffrey Roth was established in 1974 by Geoffrey HH Roth, an artist and self taught engineer. He is known for his Sedona Rose gold inlay rings and for his beautifully designed wrist watches that he machines and assembles in his studio in Sedona.

The gallery also represents some of the best American designer jewelry as well as sculpture artists Loet Vanderveen and Sedona's Kim Kori. Geoffrey Roth is rated as one of the top galleries in Sedona and Northern Arizona.

We look forward to welcoming you in our jewelry store and gallery and introducing you to these stunning pieces. Geoffrey Roth has been located under the Bell Tower in Tlaquepaque since 1974. The store is open every day from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.  For more information call 928-282-7756 or visit www.GeoffreyRothGallery.com.
