During October 2007, a group of nineteen trekked to the base of Mt. Everest in Nepal. Along the way, they experienced the sights and culture of this region known for its mountains and Sherpa people. The group’s goal, to summit Kala Patar, a peak directly opposite the west face of Everest, took them through the Solu Khumbo region of Nepal, the Sagarmatha National Park and up to nearly 19,000 feet.
One of the members of this group was the Director of the Sedona Public Library, David Keeber. He will be sharing some of his own breathtaking photos and information on the lives of the Sherpas with those who attend the presentation on Tuesday, April 1, at 6:30 p.m., in the Si Birch Community Room.
