Bell Rock Plaza Arts and Crafts Show

The 12th annual Memorial Day art show will be held at Bell Rock Plaza in the Village of Oakcreek. Many of the local favorites will be participating and as usual there will be a wide array of different arts and crafts available, especially unique jewelry. Fused glass artist, Nicole Lineah will be coming to Bell Rock Plaza. Lineah, creator of Gaia Petals Fused Art Glass, has been making innovative art since an early age. Growing up on a farm in rural Indiana, she was first inspired by the idyllic natural beauty that surrounded her. Now, residing in the mystical mountain town of Crestone, Colorado, Lineah creates dichroic glass jewelry that inspires the soul and appeals to the senses. Each unique piece, transformed by the fires of her kiln, is hand crafted from Lineah's original designs, radiating color and reflecting light in changing tones. Many people, viewing her dichroic art for the first time, are amazed at the depth of beauty displayed by the layers of glass resembling butterfly wings or galaxies. Lineah, showing throughout southern Colorado and northern New Mexico, now comes to the Sedona area for the first time to the Bell Rock Art Show. Another first time artist to the Bell Rock Plaza Art show who also works with transformations in a kiln is Kathleen Long from Texas. She does raku. To her every surface is a canvas, in that it holds or contains textures, colors and dimension. A canvas in that the surface physically holds glazes or attachments. And a canvas that conveys ideas, thoughts, and feelings for both the artist and the viewer. Long looks beyond the technical aspects of clay, composition and balance. Her work speaks of nature and feelings and often a bit of humor. Among the art at the Memorial Day show there will be paintings, leather jackets, purses, and wall art shirts, pottery, fountains, metal art, mixed media wall art, glass, pottery storytellers, photography, sculpture, jewelry, music, food and more. Surrounded by beautiful red rock scenery, Bell Rock Plaza is centrally located in the Village of Oak Creek - Gateway to Sedona on Hwy 179. The Bell Rock Plaza Art and Craft Shows are an excellent introduction to the Sedona art scene with many of Sedona's hotels, bed and breakfasts, restaurants, and shopping close by.
