Four of this generation's most remarkable musicians including Phoenecian Steven Tenenbom give their Sedona debut as Opus One, presented by Chamber Music Sedona.
Opus One features Violinist Ida Kavafian, violist Steven Tenenbom, cellist Peter Wiley, and pianist Anne Marie McDermott. They will be performing Piano Quartet No. 1 in G Minor, K. 478 by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart; Green Torso for Piano and Strings (2007) by Marc Neikrug (b. 1946); and, Piano Quartet No. 2 in E-Flat Major, Op. 87 by Antonin Dvorak.
Veterans as well as present members of the world's most prestigious chamber groups including the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, Tashi, the Beaux Arts Trio and the Orion and Guarneri String Quartets, Opus One is the result of a mutual love of music making between four extraordinary instrumentalists and friends. As soloists as well as chamber musicians, they are each familiar figures in concert halls throughout the world and have now joined together to form one of the most exciting groups performing anywhere.
The performance will be held on Sunday, April 6, at 2:30 p.m., at the St. John Vianney Church, 180 Soldiers Pass Road, in Sedona. A pre-concert lecture is scheduled from 1:15 - 2:00 p.m., in the Don Bosco Room with Edward Ingraham.
