Bell Rock Plaza Spring Arts and Crafts Show

The first of a series of spring art and craft shows will be at Bell Rock Plaza. The weather is great in April and the artists can't wait to enjoy the camaraderie of the show and bask in the nice weather. This show will be another large one, with many artists who have not shown here before. One of these is watercolor artist Maria Olink-Pinker. She will be showing at Bell Rock Plaza on April 12-13 and also at the new Tequa Marketplace show the following week. Olink-Pinker was born in Poland during WWII and came to America as a child. She attended the high school of Art and Design in NY City and also the Fashion Institute of Technology. She has provided designs and artwork for ads and brochures as well as doing commissioned pieces during her career. When she moved to Arizona she began devoting all her efforts to painting fulltime. She now does shows throughout the Southwest region including Arizona, California, Nevada and New Mexico, as well as New York. She has won many prizes since 1999 including 10 best of show awards and 16 first place awards. Olink-Pinker says "In my work, I explore the balance of color and harmony, the interplay of positive and negative shapes and the juxtaposition of realistic and abstract elements. I evoke the powerful rhythms of the natural world."..."painting to me is not a luxury...it is a necessity for the soul." In addition to several painters, there will be a new photographer, plenty of fine jewelry, award winning pottery, copper jewelry, Hopi carved kachinas, clothing, cholla lamps, hand-woven rugs, copper wall art, leather, glass, spa products and more. There will be over 60 artists showing. Surrounded by beautiful red rock scenery, Bell Rock Plaza is centrally located in the Village of Oak Creek - Gateway to Sedona. The Bell Rock Plaza Art and Craft Shows are an excellent introduction to the Sedona art scene with many of Sedona's hotels, bed and breakfasts, restaurants, and shopping close by. |
