Keep Sedona Beautiful Announces Environmental Issues Workshop With John Neville
Keep Sedona Beautiful Announces Environmental Issues Workshop With John Neville
Keep Sedona Beautiful is launching a free Environmental Issues Workshop Series beginning Saturday, from 9 a.m. to Noon. John Neville, President of Sustainable Arizona, will lead the first workshop on "Human Impacts on Our Sedona Environment and Natural Solutions." The workshop will include a presentation by Neville and a visit to several places to witness the impact we are having on Sedona. Transportation will be provided from KSB to the field sites.

This is the first of six environmental issues workshops to be offered in 2008 free of charge by Keep Sedona Beautiful and made possible by a grant from the Sedona Community Foundation. The workshop series is designed to inform residents about environmental issues present in this special place where we live, witness the impact of development and population growth on Sedona, understand our relationship to each other and to our natural environment, and discuss the simple decisions that we can make to improve our quality of life and reduce our impact on the environment. All workshops will include a hands-on, in-the-field component.

John Neville, president of Sustainable Arizona
(www.sustainablearizona.org) and a KSB member, has been involved in sustainable development since the UN Environmental Programme coined the phrase in the late 1980s. He has helped organizations with sustainability systems, business communications and management practices, leadership development, and diversity enhancement. As a LEED accredited professional with the US Green Building Council, John currently provides sustainable systems consulting and communications services to municipalities and businesses and is a frequent guest speaker.

According to Neville,
"We have the technological capacity to really wreck things! We also have the ability to make the right decisions to make things last -- that's sustainability."

Reservations are required for this free workshop. For more information on Keep Sedona Beautiful, go to www.keepsedonabeautiful.org, call 928-282-4938, or email ksb@esedona.net.
