Geoffrey Roth Features Kim Kori for Women's Festival
Geoffrey Roth Features Kim Kori for Women's Festival
Kim Kori, one of Sedona’s premier women bronze artists, will sculpt and demonstrate her work at Geoffrey Roth during the Arizona Women's Festival hosted by Tlaquepaque Arts & Crafts Village.  The gallery invites visitors to a wine reception on Friday evening from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Kim Kori, a 30-year resident artist of Sedona, creates whimsical bronzes and wildlife sculpture
with timeless fairytale qualities that are both playful and remarkably life-like. With a broad background in jewelry making, fine woodworking and the art of scrimshaw engraving, Kori took a job in a fine-art foundry where she learned the process of bronze casting. There she applied her remarkable scrimshaw talents to sculpting wonderful wildlife subjects. Kori has a tremendous ability to give her sculptures an enchanting quality that transports viewers to that rare place between fantasy and real life.

Having spent her childhood in a lush farming area of Pennsylvania,
Kim’s relationship with nature began early. She used the farmland behind her home as the backdrop of her many forays into childhood fantasy. Exploring the fields and pastures was a frequent pastime. She would then use the inspiration she found to create and illustrate stories. A fond memory is sitting with her grandfather as he admired her drawings and told her that she had a good imagination.

Always eager to perfect her skills, Kim combines her boundless love of travel and nature with studying, sketching and photographing the flora and fauna in the various regions she visits.

Surrounded by majestic landscape and abundant wildlife in northern Arizona,
Kim continues to use her lively imagination to entwine magic with reality and show us nature through her eyes in the sculptures she creates.

"People tell me my work is magical.
I think it's because I'm inspired by nature. What is more enchanting than a butterfly emerging from a cocoon, a tree growing from a tiny seed or the iridescent brilliance of a hummingbird? When I add my imagination to miracles of nature such as these, I find the essence of my work."

Please join us for a wine reception and watch Kim Kori create her next magical work.

About Geoffrey Roth:

Geoffrey Roth, an elegant gallery with over 30 years under the Bell Tower in Sedona's Arts and Crafts Village Tlaquepaque, is offering some of the finest in American Designer Jewelry, Wild Life Bronze Sculptures as well as Geoffrey's own contemporary jewelry and his hand made Wrist Watches.

Amongst the artists represented at Geoffrey Roth are some of the best American jewelry designers known today such as Alex Sepkus, Eddie Sakamoto, Michael Good, Chris Corbett, Michael Sugarman, Steven Kretchmer, James Breski, Namu Cho as well as Masriera, an Art Nouveau jewelry line from Barcelona, Spain. The two sculpture artists represented by the gallery are well known Loet Vanderveen who has a beautiful talent to capture wild animals in their elegance and grace and local artist Kim Kori whose whimsical work always delights adults and children alike.

Geoffrey Roth's own work includes his jewelry as well as his hand-crafted, limited edition wrist watches that he makes in his studio in Sedona.
