First Saturday Art Walk In Jerome

Welcome in the New Year with the artists and galleries of Jerome. Stroll the winding streets of Jerome and see why Jerome has become Arizona's Art Destination. Many galleries will be celebrating The New Year with new artists, music, and refreshments. The First Saturday Jerome Art Walk features thirty exciting galleries and studios throughout the entire town. Many of these spaces are clustered together, making it enjoyable to spend time in each section before moving on to the next. A map is provided to guide you through this exciting venue as well as a free shuttle service. Plenty of parking is available. Spirit Gallery will have its one-year anniversary with music by local legend and artist Dave Rentz. The featured artist at the Spirit Art Gallery will be Pamela Becker, a Sedona fine artist, graphic designer and illustrator, who graduated from the Rhode Island School of Design. Pamela's logo designs have been commissioned by numerous businesses in the Verde Valley. She illustrates and designs children's books and spiritual publications throughout the United States, and is the creator of Desert Lotus Illuminations: altars and candles. Gallery 527 will feature the work of gallery owner Donna Chesler who will be debuting her 3.5-hour time exposure of the August 28th lunar eclipse. This remarkable photo plus another from the same night are not to be missed. Donna also will show two new Polaroid Transfers on interesting hand made paper. The incomparable Janice Paul will be playing at this lively gallery. Some changes are afoot in the town, as well. Rick and Karen Hernandez of Jerome's Jewelry Market are moving up the street to a new and larger space and welcome to the new owner's of the ever-delicious Red Rooster. Dinner and a gallery walk on a cold winter night sounds like a lovely way to start the New Year in Jerome.
