As the new year begins and despite the challenges of the road work during 2007, the artists are eager to begin the new year at Bell Rock Plaza Art and Craft Show. There will be over 40 artists participating, many of them silversmiths who fabricate their own jewelry from scratch; others cut and polish their own stones to set into the jewelry, contributing a unique aspect to the show.
Stan Hopf is one of those jewelers who makes many of his creations from scratch. He has always been a rockhound and has a great love of stones, shells, and anything from the ocean such as pearls and coral. He is self-taught and has been designing and making jewelry since 1983 and has been involved in designing jewelry in New York for the Design Center, wholesaling to major department stores. Hopf has scaled back his involvment with major accounts, and now sells at small shows such as Bell Rock Plaza. He has been showing much of the time during 2007 and his jewelry has been extremely popular. Hopf has been involved with mining and importing for much of his career and has many childhood friends who are also avid rockhounds, some with overseas connections, so many of his beads come from exotic locales.Hopf still maintains accounts in Beverly Hills, Scottsdale and La Jolla.
There will be a wide array of art and crafts available at the show. Some of the offerings available are handmade turned wood pens, Cholla sculptures, rock paintings, copper art, paintings, spa products, knives, leather, preserves and sauces, coin art, african goods, native flutes and music, handwoven rugs, pottery, and more. We are very fortunate to have Travis Terry joining the show again , to play some music for everyone and sign autographs.
Surrounded by beautiful red rock scenery, Bell Rock Plaza is centrally located in the Village of Oak Creek - Gateway to Sedona. The Bell Rock Plaza Art and Craft Shows are an excellent introduction to the Sedona art scene with many of Sedona's hotels, bed and breakfasts, restaurants, and shopping close by.
