Institute Of EcoTourism Celebrates Local Creativity In Sedona
Across the nation, Arizona and Sedona, the rush to create a more sustainable world is powered by the search for cleaner and greener technology. To Ecotourism’s Executive Director Diane Dearmore, however, Sedona has an already sustainable quality: Local creativity.
“There are over 500 artists and writers in Sedona,” states Dearmore. “Yet today most of their work is shipped to other parts of the nation for sale. The time has come to put a spotlight on what gives life to our community.”
On December 14th, from 6:00 to 7:30 pm, the first in a series of spotlights will shine on a special program on the grounds of IET on Portal Lane. Local talent will be there in force around a warm fire along with donated potables from Page Spring Cellars and culinary pleasures supplied by El Portal.
Declares Dearmore, “Celebrating creativity is an important aspect of sustainable tourism because when visitors have an authentic, meaningful experience with local creative people, the economy prospers and our natural and cultural resources remain intact.”
