“Monday at the Museum” will feature the Verde Valley Woodcarvers on December 10 from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. The group was started by Norm Knight in 1997 and has had more than 100 people try their hand at carving since then, with about 30-35 members meeting weekly. They have carvers at all levels -beginners to master carvers- who do in-the-round carving, relief carving, chip carving, and found wood and bark carving. The public is invited to come by and watch these artisans at work. There is no fee for this demonstration.
“Monday at the Museum” is a workshop/ demonstration held every Monday; please call for a current schedule. The Museum is always looking for participants who are willing to share their knowledge of “old time” crafts and skills. For details, call Kathie Hamblen, Volunteer Coordinator, at 282-7038.
The Sedona Heritage Museum is located in Jordan Historical Park, 735 Jordan Road; public parking is ½ block north of the Museum entrance. The Museum is open daily, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m; admission is $3.
