Artists-In-Residence Exhibit at Historic Kolb Studio
Since its inception in 2002, the North Rim’s Artist-In-Residence program has attracted artists working in a variety of mediums who compete for the coveted opportunity to live and work at the Grand Canyon for three weeks at a time. The Artist-in-Residence program offers the adventure of living and working in a national park while having the opportunity to create works of art that generate an understanding and dialogue about the need to preserve this national treasure – the Grand Canyon.
One work from each residency becomes a part of Grand Canyon National Park’s permanent collection. These artworks are gathered together for this exhibition and are accompanied by additional works from each artist.

Since 1993 Kolb Studio has hosted a series of changing exhibits, each illustrating the inspirational power of Grand Canyon. This magnificent landscape has an aesthetic and emotional appeal that has inspired people to contemplate the significance of nature in the human experience. Many people have expressed their perceptions in art forms, whether verbal or visual, leaving a tangible record for others to enjoy.
This exhibit is sponsored by Grand Canyon Association and Grand Canyon National Park.
Each year millions of people visit Grand Canyon, one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World. The Grand Canyon Association (GCA), seeks to enrich the visitor experience through knowledge, experience, and information.
